Our Approach – Neuromechanical Resilience Method

We leverage the Neuromechanical Resilience Method (NRM), a unique approach developed by Dr. Royer and utilized by the entire Harmony Chiropractic Team.

It starts with Dr. Bryan D. Royer’s foundation as a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician (CCSP), which gives him a specialty in Sports Medicine. This means that Dr. Royer has expert knowledge of sports injuries and physical fitness.

The Neuromechanical Resilience Method also incorporates his experience as a Board-Certified Chiropractic Neurologist treating complex neurological problems.

Dr. Royer builds from this foundation by incorporating his knowledge from his certification in Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) and his experience as a Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES). He is an expert in the body’s function during movement, from high-level athletics to everyday activities.

Step 2 – Pain Relief Phase

Step 3 – Return to Activity Phase

Four-Legged Stool

When people show up to our office in Sylvania with pain, four major factors can often be addressed to help recovery.

We like to refer to this as a Four-Legged Stool since four legs create stability and strength.

If one of the legs is weak, short, or missing, the stool will wobble but can likely still stand on its own. However, if more than one support is lacking, it will surely fall.

We deal with sports injuries and problems with muscles and joints, but this can apply to more complex neurological issues that Dr. Royer sees as a functional neurologist as well.

The elements that support the Four-Legged Stool are as follows:

  1.       Joint Movement
  2.       Hyperactivity
  3.       Weakness
  4.       Nutrition

If any of the above are lacking, the stool will start to wobble.

4 leg approach

Neuromusculoskeletal problems that can derail your everyday life are often linked to one or more of these issues. Joint movements are one of the main phenomena that drive our brains, and the ability to move properly and sense that movement is related to pain and dysfunction. Chiropractic adjustments can help your joint move better.

Certain system elements can be over-excited compared to where they should be, making muscles too tight and sore or nerves irritable or over-excited. In comparison, weakness means there is a lack of stability or control due to muscles or nerves that aren’t pulling their weight.

Nutrition is often the forgotten step as what you put into your body affects how fast and completely you can heal because of how it affects inflammation.

To get better, one needs to make sure joints are moving properly, hyperactive muscles or nerves are quieted, weakness is replaced with resilience, and good foods are nourishing the body.
